The deadline struggle is VERY REAL.
This post is gonna be brief, and since I know how intelligent and capable y’all are, you can probably guess why from the headline.
You know how I love to regale you with tales of my travels, and fill you in on the latest hotness in comfy but fashionable outfits. So here’s a lil taste of what I’ve been up to.
Last Saturday I was blessed to be among the number of folks at Deborah Fletcher Mello’s Literary Tea. Let me tell y’all, Deb and her Diamonds showed up and showed out! Not to mention the fabulous line up of talented authors who were there, including Cheris Hodges (my partner in crime) Denise Jeffries (my Hot MAMA compatriot,) Iris Bolling, Reshonda Tate Billingsley, Cassandra Durham…I mean the list goes on and on! (There were 14 authors in all.) And you know the MC Lasheera Lee kept it all the way real! I wasn’t working in my official author capacity, I mainly just came to fangirl, support Deb, and enjoy the company of my awesome colleagues in this writing game. Let me tell you, a great time was had by all. And yes, the tea was sipped, spilled, and thoroughly enjoyed 😉
The black and white ensemble is as follows: Top from Torrid( I think I paid $10 or so for it due to a clearance sale, Black Skinny Jeans from Old Navy(also on sale, $19). Boots and Bag from Shoe Dazzle. My hair is French braided down the back, and I set the top part on pink and orange perm rods to get the curls. My make up is all the usual suspects except the gloss: Nyx in Red Velvet Cake.
This weekend I’m off to Baltimore for Beverly Jenkins and Friends at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum. Baltimore peeps, y’all come through and join us!
Now I gotta get back to work. I’m in the home stretch on my November Kimani (just got a GORGEOUS cover proof yesterday, BTW) and this book ain’t gonna write itself! TTYL!
